The transfer of power from outgoing Chairman James Dickey to Chairman-Elect, Lt. Col. Allen West occurred today, July 20th, at noon during the General Session for our State Convention.
Dickey thanked the delegates for the opportunity to serve as Chairman and said he is reminded of the words of President Abraham Lincoln: "With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in."
He continued: "Those words are as true today as they were 155 years ago. Let us continue the work that has been entrusted to us, with the determination and commitment called in these challenging times."
West accepted the gavel and vowed to lead Republican candidates on to victory in Texas in the November 3rd election. He received an early morning congratulatory tweet from President Trump. Cat Parks was elected as the new Texas Vice Chairperson.
