15 Years and Going Strong!

The Tea Party movement was launched following a February 19, 2009, call for a "tea party" by CNBC reporter Rick Santelli on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange .

On April 15th 2009, tax day, people around the United States gathered in their communities to oppose President Barak Obama’s policies.  This was the start of the Tea Party movement, an American fiscally conservative political movement within the Republican Party.  It was a major factor in the 2010 wave election in which Republicans gained 63 House seats and took control of the US House of Representatives.  In Sherman, TX, we met on grounds of the Grayson County Courthouse, and people came from all over the area.  Many people got tea bags and sent them to Washington D.C.

Our Texoma Patriots “Tea Party” started in August of 2009 with a “Kill the Bill” march.  We gathered at the Federal Building in Sherman and marched down to the County Courthouse led by Representative Ralph Hall and Kaaren Teuber, one of the originators of the Texoma Patriots.  Citizens and elected officials gave talks and expressed concern over the new administration’s policies.  We are a grassroots organization which now meets regularly and has grown to be a force within the area.

Our goals are to educate voters on conservative issues and candidates, to ensure freedom and prosperity for future generations, and to advocate and support citizens and public servants who support our core values which are:

- limited government

- fiscal responsibility

- personal responsibility

- the rule of law

- and national sovereignty

We have had some amazing guests speak at our meetings. Some of these include Nigel Farage, Katie Hopkins, Kamal Saleem, Trevor Loudon, Jaco Booyens, Frank Gaffney, Sheriff

Mack, Attorney General Paxton plus elected officials and candidates. We have covered a multitude of topics to inform our community of upcoming elections, dangers facing our Republic, problems facing our youth, study of the U. S. Constitution, and meeting with our elected officials just to name a few. And, we have had fun events waving signs and flags on bridges, tractor parades, picnics, game nights, and showing movies. We have covered a whole gamut of topics.

We invite you to join us.  Everyone is welcome at our meetings.  There are no dues nor membership requirements and you can mix and mingle with like-minded citizens and elected officials and candidates.  We can no longer be the silent majority.  We must be loud and proud and a generation with a bold voice.  We must let our elected officials know how they should vote and support their constituents.
